Tutorial / Introduction
service.lanzweb.ch has two main functions to explain:
- http://config.lanzweb.ch opens a web app to administrate your data - lets call it lanzweb-admin.
- On the other hand there is a service that can be called and that will bring up the links you added in lanzweb-admin - lets call it lanzweb-service.
Once you have set up all the links you would like to keep you can store a similar link as your start page and always have access to them where ever you are.
Let me explain some important ingredients of service.lanzweb.ch:
- Every user has four contexts to work with - 'nomad', 'home', 'work' and 'show all'. These contexts are predefined and cannot be altered. While 'show all' simply lists all your links in an alphabetical order you can use the other contexts to selectively build a web page.
- With lanzweb-admin you can define topics yourself such as 'my home' and 'search engines' in my demo. You can choose whether a topic should appear in a certain context and you can define the sequence within a context.
- Finally a topic allways consists of a number of links that appear in a sequence defined by you.
- As a little help to save some clicks there is a search field that opens Google search in a new tab.
- There is a open URL field where you can enter any url and open it in a new tab as well.
Change contexts by clicking the left mouse button in the first line or open some links!
If your page is long then you can jump to a topic by clicking it in the 'your topics' section.
